Independence Day!

Today Norway has been an independent country for exactly 100 years. On this lovely day in 1905, we received freedom from the Swedish, and half a year later, in November, we got our first "own" king in 600 years, King Haakon. At school today, we watched a play, showing the process of becoming an independent state. Very interesting, especially in the end, when we all stood up and song or national anthem "Yes, we love this country"

I will kindly ask you all to join the celebration :)

The picture is taken at Festplassen in Bergen, where one can find a statue of our prime-minister at that time, Christian Michelsen from Bergen!Posted by Hello

The song was really funny when you translated it into Englis. "Yes, We love this country". Really patriotic. Our school is 100 years old today to, so we celebrated two 100 year- anniversaries. YEah yeah!
