Snart påske

Jeg har nå vært i Bergen i ca en måned etter min retur fra Kiel i Tyskland. I vinterferieuken (dessverre ikke vinterferie på NHH, så gikk glipp av endel undervisning) var jeg sammen med sviger-familien på en nydelig hytte på Golsfjellet. Der stod vi mye på langrenn og nøt Guds fantastiske natur.

Det er en og en halv uke til påskeferie, og før det er det omtrent bare skolearbeid som står på plakaten. Så det kommer til å bli utrolig deilig med påskeferie og påskekonferanse. Også kommer Anna, Ben-David og Elias til Bergen. JOHO.

Ja, naa befinner jeg meg altsaa i Kiel, i Tyskland. Her har jeg värt i to uker, og har to uker igjen. Jeg bor hos en utrolig koselig familie, vi spiser frokost sammen nesten hver morgen, og moren i huset har til og med vasket klärene mine. Faar haape jeg ikke blir for bortskjemt mens jeg er her...

Ellers er neste höydepunkt om en uke. Da skal jeg til hovedstaten Berlin. Og det beste med det, er vel at Haakon ogsaa kommer dit. FLOTT!! Vi er nok ikke ment til aa väre en maaned uten hverandre.

Da maa jeg gaa. Frokosten er servert!

I år ville vår alles kjære og fantastiske Astrid Lindgren fylt 100 år. I dagens utgave av BT-Magasinet stod et par artikler om henne. Jeg kom over denne fabelaktige og humoristiske historien:

"Etter et salig antall kjøretimer stryker hun i 1954 på oppkjøring. "Men sånn kan du ikke gjøre rett før jul!", argumenterer hun, og påstår at hun tar lappen for å kunne bringe barn og barnebarn i sikkerthet i tilfelle krig. "Kjære fru Lindgren, deres bilkjøring er en større fare for barna enn selve krigen", svarte sensor, men ga seg til slutt, og ba henne hilse Pippi."

Det må også nevnes i denne forbindelse, at av de 75.000 brevene i brevsamlingen til Astrid, er et brev fra megselv som 10åring. Dette brevet befinner seg nå i et utstillingsvindu med kun et titalls andre brev, i museet "junibakken" i Stockholm...

Nesten vinterferie

Denne uka har Håkon vinterferie, og jeg har endel forelesningsfri. Dette har ført til noen fantastiske og avslappende morgenstunder med frokost i senga og kosestunder med min herlige ektemake. I morgen tidlig sier det imidlertid stopp, da er det skole fra åtte til fire..

Kurs med jobben

Ikke vet jeg om det er noe rart med meg, men de seks siste tirsdagskveldene fra 17.00-21.00 har jeg vært på assistentkurs på sykehjemmet hvor jeg jobber, og jeg har STORKOST meg. Det er så spennende å jobbe med eldre mennesker at jeg blir helt lykkelig bare av tanken. Jeg elsker jobben min, og demens blir bare mer og mer interessant og utfordrende. Det triste er imidlertid at disse hyggelige tirsdagskveldene idag tok en brå slutt..

A weekend away

This past weekend Håkon and I were at a cabin about two hours away from Bergen, (at Ljosanbotn) together with two other newly wed couples: Janne and Øystein, and Sunniva and Lars. We had a great time playing games, eating good food, praying, reading, laughing, playing in the snow etc.. Very relaxing and fun. Now I'm back to Bergen, studying for my exam in international economic history.

Nå sitter Ingrid M og jeg i stua til Ingrid ++ og gjør lekser.. Jeg vandret litt i området (Kronstad) og håpet å finne noen åpne dører med ledig PC til oppgaveskriving - det ble fulltreffer på første forsøk. Med litt cider, cashew-nøtter og green tea, går lekselesingen og skrivingen for oss begge fremover. Yeah

Nå er det forresten bare to dager til Silje, Eden og Mattias kommer på besøk. Og Elias lever fortsatt i aller beste og søteste velgående (sjekk ut bloggen deres her)

Elias is born!! Two days ago, 7th of October, 11:30am, 52cm, 3950kilograms. And the best: he is super-healthy and very good looking! Yesterday I saw him for the first time, fantastic! He knew right away that Håkon and I were his family, since he pooped and farted when I held him, and "baby-puked" (don't remember the word...) when he was in Håkon's arms.

Today, when I visited him again, he was even more adorable.

All my married sisters and sisters-in-law are pregnant. By May next year my number of niece and nephews have increased from three till seven. That is so great indeed :) Super auntie Eva is ready to welcome all of them. First one out is Elias, who is due Tuesday 3rd of October. I'll keep you updated, and as an auntie ought to do, I will post pictures and brag about their beautiful appearance and how they look so much like me...

Right now I'm sitting at the computer lab, killing time (?)...

Five minutes before my lesson were supposed to start this morning, I opened the door to the aud max, where I expected to meet 400 other tired faces. Instead there where three sort of confusing students moving around, and I realized that I could have slept 'till 8.30 instead of 6.30...

If you've read my sister's (Sunniva) blog for some time now, you may say that this seems like a family-weakness...

Life as married...

(Sorry it has taken so long. I've been busy cleaning the house, making breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper, doing the laundry and other important wife-like tasks. It's hard to be married...)

Håkon and I are enjoying our life together in Ole Irgens' vei 74. We started school a couple of weeks ago, so the everyday life has begun, and we love it!

Here is a picture from our wedding the 28th of July(taken by our photographer). We had a fantastic day with friends and family, not to forget all the gorgeous and generous gifts we got...

A lot has happened since last time posting. Janne and Øystein got married on 8th of April. They looked beautiful, and the wedding was loads of fun! After the wedding Håkon and I left for Skien where we visited Håkons parents. During the two days at the eastern part of Norway, we went cross-country skiing, and I also got the opportunity to meet HÃ¥kon's grandparents and some aunts and uncles. Great people (and I think they liked me! Hehe)!

When we returned to Bergen, the annual Easter conference started. Silje P (who by the way turned 19 on Saturday), my very good friend, stayed with me for some days, great fun!We fellowshiped with with God and with each other - that's always encouraging :)

I also have to mention Henriette's birthday party on Friday. Yeah. We had fun. And my friends welcomed Håkon in a great way :) Thanks guys...

After being in England for two days now, I have realized that Eden and I are quite similar in many ways, especially when it comes to boys. We are in love with the same guy :) Today we have been at Starbucks, Next, Boarders and Marks and Spencer. Eden and Håkon played together all day, she even went with him when he tried on clothes... "I love Håton". "HÅÅÅÅTON" (Eden shouting when she couldn't find him).

And Mattias; he is adorable, and always ready for a cuddle :)

1) Eden, Mattias, Silje and Nick came to Norway today, they're staying here for a week. I am living at my parent's while they're here, so I'll get the opportunity to get to know them more!

Hey everyone and happy new year! So far mine has been very good. Starting school and trying to create some good routines for the new semester. I am right now doing a biography-study on one of the prophets in the Bible: Elisha. Very interesting, although I haven't come very far jet!

Hope you all had a nice Christmas and New Year celebration! The New Year's Festival went by fairly quickly, however several good testimonies to share: many people met God and gave their life to Jesus :)

Silje, Nick, Eden and Mattias are soon coming to Norway. I can't wait to see them again, take some great pictures and post them here. In the meantime, enjoy my beautiful boyfriend Håkon and I...

Today I had my one and only exam this semester. I think it went well, however, only time will tell!

Today Håkon and I have been dating for half a year. Congratulations. And Tante Solfrid: We will come visit you in Stavanger in January or February!

Anyway. Team in Vestfold and Oslo was a lot of fun! A great experience, although I'm glad I'm back in Bergen!

Christmas is coming to town, and that means Christmas presents! In that case "Ny generasjon" is giving away 10 000 new testaments to students at schools in Hordaland! If you would like to help wrapping some of the Bibles, you can show up at the Pentecostal Church in Bergen (in Marken) either Thursday (the 8th) from 17-22, Saturday 10-16, or Sunday 14-22...

In Stokke

Right now I am in Stokke together with three classmates: Julia, Vidar and Hannis (pictured). We enjoy ourselves, and are at the same time challenged by some of the tasks we are given. Tomorrow we will teach two classes at Stokke youth-school, and also participate at the youth meeting in the evening. God is good!

Next week we (except Julia :() are heading towards our capital Oslo. Looking forward to this!

The sad part about being on the east side of the country, is that Håkon is not here... 12 and a half day without him :.......(

This afternoon, I'm home at my parents' eating a proper Sunday meal. My cousin, Stine, just moved to Bergen, and she stays with my them 'till (at least) January. It's fun to have her here. We also have visitors from England, two ladies from somewhere around the Coventry-area, so the house is full.

Anyways. I thought I should post a picture since all my pictures are on mom's computer. While looking through them, I found some from my old school, Bergen Handelsgymnasium, and realized that I miss it :( Well, well. That's life :)

It's been a while. The election didn't go as I hoped, however, it is not the end of the world!

Lately I've been occupied with school work, hanging out with friends and planning the new years festival 05/06! It has been great. I hung out with a friend from primary school this past Sunday, who I haven't met in a year.

I must give my thoughts to Tina, who's boyfriend André, left for the army on Sunday...

Election-day in Norway...

Today is a very interesting and important day for our nation. We are to decide who's going to represent the population at the parliament. It is a very close race between the sitting government and a socialist coalition. In just a couple of minutes I'm heading towards RÅ SKOLE, where I will give my vote to Kristelig Folkeparti (literary translated: "the Christian People Party"!) I hope today's government will continue the next four-year period, so it will be exciting to see the results tonight or tomorrow morning.

On Saturday I went to the movietheatre together with my dear friend Tina (pictured above) and saw "the Island". An interesting movie, I think I liked it!

PS. I didn't have time to write more about my parents last post, but I assure you: I love them dearly :)

Finally, after two months with holiday, I'm back in business! Today was my first day at Bergen Bible-school, and I look forward to the year ahead of me. It'll be good to gain knowledge and wisdom concerning my God and Father and his Kingdom, and get to know all the people in my class. We are 35 students from 18 to 50 years old, an interesting group!

Noralv Askeland started the day with these words from the proverbs: "My child, listen to me and treasure my instructions. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight and understanding. Search for them as you would for lost money or hidden treasure.."

I have also moved into my apartment together with Silje and Hanne Marie. Great!!

How I love being an auntie! I enjoy myself here in Coventry, England together with Nick, Silje, Eden and Mattias. They (especially Eden and Mattias) are beautiful beyond description, more beautiful than the impression one gets from the pictures. I have already change my niece and nephew's diaper, and Mattias showed his appreciation by pooping and farting while I was in action... An interesting experience! Eden is trying hard to call everyone by name, she is still struggling with "morfar" (grandpa), so she just calls him "mormor" (grandma)...

I am now sitting on a bed in a Hotel-room in Husum in North-Germany :) All my father's siblings and some of my cousins are here together with my grandparents, altogether 22. Before we arrived in Husum Sunday evening, Sunniva, dad and I drove from Oslo to Copenhagen, then dropping by Berlin on our way down to Donauwörth. The beautiful picture of myself is taken in front of Brandenburger Tor in Berlin. If you want to see a picture of me in front of the Berlin Wall, you can check in out on my sister's blog!

This following Monday, we are continuing our holiday by visiting Silje, Nick, Eden and Mattias in Coventry, England. Joho!

I want to dedicate this post to my dear cousin Stine Vigre Pedersen who is in Bergen for the moment. Stine lived in Florida last year and went to a Bible College there, I haven´t seen here since Christmas, so I am excited that she now sits right next to me reading my post :) She might even move to Bergen this fall or back to the states. So all you guys and girls in Bergen: make sure that she enjoys her stay, so that she´ll move from Stavanger!

Other than that I have been working in our garden and cleaning our garage this week together with my extraordinary sister Sunniva. I have also realized that I miss three things: USA, soccer and Håkon...

Lenny never disapoints! Both Kristine and I had a blast at the concert yesterday. I recommend you all to go to his next concert, wherever whenever... Lenny even played my favourite song "Stand by my woman", I almost fainted at the climax "oh baby, I am so in love with yououou..."

Lenny played five different guitars, and his band, especially the drummer (who by the way was a female...) was exceptionally good.

And to all who wondered: Lenny looked fabulous :)

In a couple of hours I will be on my way to Oslo together with Kristine. With great expectations we are going to see Lenny Kravitz live on stage, Friday July 1st. His music is fantastic, and he plays all the instruments himself. What a genius!

Summer!!

I have probably spent three hours over the last three days/nights trying to post a picture from the "graduation"-party with my class without succeeding. So I finally decided that I had to post something else instead!

Well, my summer holiday has started and it feels good to relax after a busy school-year. This week I'm going to spend on a children's camp and the following week I'm going to Oslo with my beautiful friend Kristine. We're going to the Lenny Kravitz' concert on July 1st, I can't wait! I am also going to the bible-week in Stokke and to Germany and England with my family. Silje's (my oldest sister) baby is due on July 18th, and I'll have the privilege to see the little one right after its arrival!

Summer is a great opportunity to relax together with God and other good friends.

This morning I woke up quite nervous, in fact I was not even able to eat breakfast before I went to school. It was my last day at Bergen Handelsgymnasium and I had one task for the day: oral exam in mathematics. It was a fantastic experience to stand in the front of the class-rom, while writing on the blackboard and teaching math to two math-teachers.

This great half an hour from 2pm to 2.30pm determined my mood for the rest of the day. I have been extremly happy and laughter has been a great part of this day. I am grateful that I spent my celebration hours together with Isabelle and Mari, they also have a great sense of humour...

I dedicate this post to Jesus Christ, my best friend and greatest helper! So far in my 18-year long life, he has blessed me with a great family, many good friends, good teachers and leaders, and adventures that I will remember till I die. The last week I have hung out with friends, had a class gathering in my house and watched a great dance-performance by some dancers in church.

Independence Day!

Today Norway has been an independent country for exactly 100 years. On this lovely day in 1905, we received freedom from the Swedish, and half a year later, in November, we got our first "own" king in 600 years, King Haakon. At school today, we watched a play, showing the process of becoming an independent state. Very interesting, especially in the end, when we all stood up and song or national anthem "Yes, we love this country"

I will kindly ask you all to join the celebration :)

I was just on the phone with my dear friend Irlin and I asked her what I should write about on my blog today. She boldly answered "about me, of course!". Irlin is in my Jesus-group, where we have a lot of fun together, and when we are together we always laugh. The sad thing is however that Kristine (another dear friend of mine) and Irlin are moving to Stord this coming semester, oh man, I am going to miss them so incredibly much :(

Well, I have some good news for you guys as well! I am done with all my written exams at high school, they went well, and unlike my sister Sunniva, I distributed my time well, and am pretty happy about the results.

Yesterday we had a surprise party for Diego who's turning 18 today. On the occasion of his birthday, our Jesus-group decided to buy the new Idol song for him (Diego strongly dislike Idol...). It turned out to be a great hit among us (even Diego took part in the singing!). I'm still inspired and would like to share what I personally think is the best part of the song:

Finals

This weekend and the upcoming week I will dedicate to my studies. The final exams in Norwegian, Newnorwegian and accounting will take place this following Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It is raining outside, so the sacrifice of studying isn't too bad after all. My greatest temptation is in fact internet and blogging. If new posts appear with a greater frequency than usual, I am probably getting bored with the preparations for my exams.

I just woke up from a beautiful and well deserved nap, when I suddenly realized that my blog also deserved something today, he/she/it deserved a new post with an outstanding picture. Since the greatest dad in the entire universe turned 50 yesterday, nothing would be more appropriate than posting a picture of him together with the person he loves the most for the moment: my niece Eden Louise Howes.

Other than that I must proudly admit that I made the top five list over Sunniva's (my beloved sister) favorite blogs. Hopefully you all agree...

Yesterday Jorun won the Norwegian Idol. I spent 10kr voting for Tone, while my smart sister Sunniva, spent 25kr voting three times for Jorun and twice for Tone :)

Visiting the capital

Later today I'm heading towards Oslo together with mum and Sunniva. My cousin Tea Chanel, is celebrating her 15th birthday, so we're having a party for her.
Another youth meeting will pass by without my presence and laughter...
I will be back on Sunday, ready to finish the "russetid" on May 17th. And for all you foreigners reading my blog: that is our national day. Yeah! We celebrate our constitution's 191st anniversary!

I must admit that after wearing the same pants for more than two weeks, they are getting quite dirty (especially after the weekend in Kongeparken). I had great fun by the way, the driving went well. Together with other "Jesusruss" I shared the gospel with several co-russ, and blessed them with buns and live worship from the stage in our tent (one of the guys played guitar and sang :)) Thank you for all your prayers, God answered them!

Yesterday I handed in my application form to Bergen Bible School. That's where you'll find me next year!

Tomorrow morning I'll drive to Stavanger (or close by), to one of the greatest "russe"-festivals in Norway. Together with thousands of other "russ" we will party all night long... For those of you who pray: please pray for protection for everyone participating, and for everyone who drives (that includes me!). Also pray for the Christians, that other people will see Jesus through us. We're going to hand out buns and cakes, and pray for sick people, whatever God tells us to do :) Thanks for prayers!

To all of you (whether you pray or not!): God loves you and sent his only Son, so that you can know God.

"Russetid"

My career as a student at high school is coming to an end. I only have a month and a half left, and have just started what we in Norway call "russetid". A senior tradition in Norway, hard to explain... From now and until our national day (and Melody's birthday!), May 17th, I will wear the same blue pants everyday!! Sounds disgusting, however, it's great fun! It is a time of partying and doing weird things normal people usually don't do. For instance bite a freshman in the leg!

I will probably post a picture of my "russe-costume" one time before May 17th, in the meantime you may enjoy the picture above, showing Evelyn, me, Christine, Henriette and Una at our school-trip in France!

She is definitely beautiful beyond description!!! Although this picture doesn't really show her best pose... What the picture shows us, though, is Eden trying to feed her good auntie Eva. I must say that I love my little niece with all the love an auntie can give, and I enjoyed having her in my house for over a week. However, she left together with her parents yesterday :(

I promised my dear friend Tina Tveit to write a couple of words about her on my blog... So here I go!! For everyone who doesn't know her: You're missing out on a lot of fun. She's in my history, Norwegian, religion, gym and accounting classes. And the best part: we go exercise together every once in a while :) She always end a message to me with this sentence: "say hello to your God from me"... I love you Tina :) And so does my God!!

For everyone who wondered: I'm back from my tour in Europe. This past week I've been to Norway (!), Sweden, Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. No doubt, it was brilliant: I learned a lot, and had lots of fun. Sitting on the bus hour after hour was actually great fun, you should try it out.

Visiting concentration camps from the second world war made impressions on all of us. The horror and torture people went through, made me think. And how people can be so cruel and treat innocent people like they did in the camps, scared me, especially since the Nazis believed what they did was right.

Beside the historical experiences, we also did the typical tourist things! Won't bother telling you about that!

And some great news: Silje and Eden are back in Norway. Nick will come on Thursday. Can't wait to spend more time with them this week. (Eden smiled at me today when I came home, she also brushed my teeth before she went to bed... Oh man, she is soooooo adorable!!!)

Tomorrow I'll leave for France.. YEAH!! I'm going with what we call the white buses, so I will also drop by Sweden, Germany and Belgium. The trip includes visits at two concentration camps from the second world war, driving the bus... and having FUN with friends++

I won't be back in time for the youth camp, and not to mention Silje's 18th birthday.. No offence guys and girls: but it is worth it all!!!

Interesting experience

Today between doing homework and doing homework, my sister Sunniva and I watched yesterday's show of Norwegian Idol. This is the first show I've seen since the auditions, which means that I don't have any relation to any of the competitors at all. With this in mind, imagine me crying (and I mean REAL tears falling down my cheeks) as the host and hostess declare who must leave the competition... What also is funny, is that I read on the internet this morning, before watching the show that Malin Pettersen lost yesterday :) I didn't know I was that sensitive!!

Arrived my beautiful home in Bergen today at 12 o'clock, 15 hours after leaving St.Charles. The jurney went by fast, although I didn't sleep at all (looking forward to this evening).. I had a great time in America, a bit short but better than nothing. Anyway, I don't feel like sharing exciting experiences right now. Back in the States

After almost two years I'm finally back in the United States of America! I've been here a week now, and has still four days to come. So far I've been to Grand Rapids visiting Silje Veslemo/y and her friends up there, and now I'm in St.Charles, where I used to live. Yesterday Kaitie, Ben, Lars, Anna, Benny and the USA team (except Kristine) went down-town Chicago - beautiful! Today I'm going to hang out with some friends who I went to school with, and later have a girls gathering at church.

Well. That's just an update for you guys. See you!

Travelling

The day after tomorrow I'm going to the USA. I can hardly wait for the two weeks ahead of me. Finally, after years, I will see my family (host) and friends in St.Charles, and my dear friend Silje Veslemøy in Grand Rapids. Together with Anna, Ben-David, Glenn-Roger, Øystein, Sunniva and Kristine, I'm going by plane at Friday morning (6.45am). You will probably not hear from me in a while, but I can promise you that I'm having a great time. The week after I return from the States I'm going to France with students from school. I retured from Oslo this past Saturday after a week in Norway's beautiful capital, so I can really say that I'm blessed with great days all around the world these days.

The only disadvantage about me travelling, is the school work that needs to be done when I'm home. That's why I can't write more on my blog, I have LOADS of homework that needs to be done before I leave.

My beautiful mother is now 50 years old. She doesn't look that old, though! The picture of her is taken on Christmas Eve as she opens one of her gifts.. The decoration on her head shows how she makes a little extra out of every circumstance in life. Those who do not know my mum's crazy side, really has something to look forward to. She has a great sense of humour :) and is responsible for some of the funniest comments ever said in history! On top of that, she has a loving heart and a serving attitude.

This has been a great day! The weather has been PERFECT throughout the winter holiday. And this morning Silje, Christine, Hannis and I went for a little hike at Lyderhorn (one of the seven mountains surrounding our beautiful city!). We had fun in the sun, although Christine and I had some great slippery experiences :) There were loads of ice towards the top of the mountain, and we did not really cope with the challenges that followed. Hehe..

God is good and blesses me in every situation in life. Nothing compares to a life in fellowship with him!

Tonight I spent some time with my good friend Silje. I have known her since I moved to Bergen, but we have never lived as close to each other as we do now. Together with her family she moved to my neighborhood half a year ago, and it is a true privilege to be able to spend so much time with her. We meet every Monday to do homework together (which normally ends up with talking and praying...), and are also in the same Jesus-group. It is now winter holliday and we are off school, so today we did not even think about homework but went for a walk, drank my lovely coffee, and ate toast, almond and raisins! Before she had to go home we decided to take a picture and post it on my blog. So that is what I am doing now! She had to go, but asked me to dedicate this post to her and tell the rest of the world that she is a brilliant girl with a great sense of humour.. I agree, and give thanks to my Lord for his beautiful gift to me!

Soccer is fun..

Today I played soccer together with three cute girls: my funny sister Sunniva (who has just taken a perm and is now more beautiful than ever!!), Isabelle, who had the best shot today! and her friend from the University; Christina. We have great plans for the spring, and are hoping to become professionals by the end of the school-year. Other girls who are eager to improve their skills are more than welcome to join us. Every Wednesday, either at 14.30 or at 16.30..

As I promised you all: here is my favourite picture of my gorgeous niece Eden Louise Howes.

In addition, I have to mention that our Norwegian handball-guys won the most amazing world cup-game against former Olympic- and Worldchampions, Croatia, 28 to 25. It was fantastic to watch our national team! I'm speechless... I hope you all got the chance to watch it, and if not: you missed the best game EVER played by the Norwegian handball-team. One can compare it to Norway's win against Brazil in Soccer.

Tomorrow we'll meet our Swedish neighbours.

Skiing in Bergen!

After two weeks with great winter-weather here in Bergen, I finally got a chance to go skiing today. Sort of ironic since it was raining! However, I had a great time together with my dear friend Janne. We went to Gullbotn, and after a funny time on our lovely cross-country skies, we visited a couple in our church; Egil and Solveig Grønner. They are such a great couple, hospitable and caring. Together with them we drank coffee and tried After Eight with orange flavour. Pretty good actually (although I'm not the greatest fan of orange flavoured chocolate).

I am now going to a friend of mine, Christine, to celebrate her 19th birthday.

OK. I have to apologize to all my faithful readers.. I have thought about you all, but not gotten the time to write to you. Well, that is actually a lousy excuse "sorry seems to be the hardest word..."

I have had a great Christmas break with family and friends. My lovely niece from England stayed here for two weeks together with her parents and some friends! We had so much fun, and the weather was GREAT. I have never experienced such a perfect Christmas before, it was snowing and snowing. My dreams came true!

The new year's festival was awesome! We were about 200 youths gathered to have fun and to honor God++! People got saved, baptized, and we had so much fun meeting new people and developing friendships with youths all over Norway. The celebration on New Year's Eve was splendid! Great entertainment and fellowship, not to forget all the dancing. Fun, fun, fun!!

And now, back to reality. School started last week. It takes a time to get back to school modus, however, it is not that bad after all. I am enjoying myself, still looking forward to the summer holliday!!! Hehe..

Almost Christmas break!!

I am now preparing my last presentation this semester, the class is English and the topic is Shakespeare. To be honest: it is not my favourite topic! The problem is: "what are some myths about Shakespeare's love life, and are they likely to be true?"

Anyway.. This past Sunday, Tony Ling was preaching at our service at church. He spoke about Isac, and how we are to imitate him in laughing and living. If it had not been for Jesus, I should have been dead, however, I am alive! And I am going to make my life count..

We have this "Hjelp til Jul" event at school this coming Monday. The students will collect money to the Salvation Army (slumsøstrene). I am in the committee working with the practical task around the event, and have therefore been quite busy with that lately instead of attending my regular classes. It is fun, though, doing something different!

The Velvet concert this past Friday was great fun. God is good!

Homework and Velvet!

This week has been quite busy both at school and with church stuff! As I mentioned last time, the youth group arranges a concert tomorrow evening at 7pm which is called Velvet. I have great expectations both to the concert itself and to what God is going to do through it!

Tomorrow I have a two-hour essay writing at school. In my English class we have read the novel "The Quiet American" by Graham Greene, and tomorrow we are going to write an essay about it. So that is what I am preparing right now. (as you understood, I seriously needed a break from that =))

Anyway.. Today I had a funny experience at school. Some girls at school (including me) played a soccer game against Sandsli vgs today, in this school turnament thing. The funny thing, however, was that we lost by nine goals or something.. I realized two things while I was playing: 1) I seriously need to exercise more =) and 2) I really really really miss playing soccer =..(

Well.. That is enough for today.. I am improving in updating this thing!!

I just realized that my blog site is reffered to on Erling Thu's site, and understood that I probably should update it more often since people actually read what I write! Maybee I'll add some pictures and links, just give me some time =)

It is Sunday night, and I just got home from a visit to a friend of mine. We were planning a "New Generation" happening at our school next Monday, where we will tell classmates about Jesus and give them some buns to chew on! In December we will also have a calender at school (which we started on today) with various Bible verse and other encouraging words on, preparing ourselves for Christmas!

There are alot of exciting things going on for the moment. The youth group will arrange this Velvet consert Friday, December 3rd. There will be a great New Years Conference and my niece, sister and brother-in-law are coming over from England to celebrate Christmas with us!

School is also encouraging for the moment. Since we don't have a cafeteria at my school, we have started "Thursday time" with the Student Counsil. This past Thursday we had our first gathering, where the pupils could watch music videos on a big screen in the gym while buying cookies etc. The whole idea is to create a better environment for the students.. Hopefully it will work out!

I'm trying to update my blog as often as I can, however, it's not a habbit yet, so I forget it all the time!! Anyway..

Since last time I've been doing homework, homework and even more homework.. There is just so much to do @ school. But I have survived so far, and know that it can just be better! And in all things, God is good! I've quitted my job at REMA 1000, which is sort of sad, but I had to do it to be able to make the days go 'round..

I have also ordered tickets to visit friends in the USA this Easter. I am really looking forward to it! Yeah..
